Dr. Ibrahim Yousuf Sillah is a Sierra Leonean academician resident in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He is a lecturer at the King Saud University. He writes after praising Jimmy Carter for many of his deeds "Now, coming to the point, I would like the reader to know that the main purpose of this article is not only to highlight some of the humanitarian aspects of President Jimmy Carter and his countless efforts to world peace, but also, after all the good he has offered to the world, to call him to embrace the faith of Islam before he vacates this world of vanity, which would not allow any living soul to stay permanently."

Cornelis Hulsman: Dr. Sillah writes this is not likely to happen. Since his wish was expressed publicly in this publication it seems that he was more intending to reach the audience of his publication. One reader comments in a mail to the editor "It is precisely this infantile religious narcissism that makes Islam absurd. As are all religions." Sad to see such a response. The Middle East one hears more such calls for conversion. If you disagree, smile but know it was well intended.
