Humanity is the enemy of what it does not know, and ignorance is the father of evil.  Does Islam call for the killing of people and does Christianity welcome the drinking of alcohol?  Seven out of every ten non-Muslims will answer the first question with a yes, and a similar percentage of non-Christians will suggest the same answer to the second question.  Are they right?  Of course, there is no religious system that can make it admissible to kill or approve of grave sins.
