Emad El-Din Aysha, PhD believes the October War Celebrations were celebrated in a much too religious way for such a ‘national’ occasion. The new Minister of Culture, Helmy Al-Namnam, a "good Muslim" and self-declared "secularist" according to the author is "a long-time advocate of moderating the Islamic message in mosques and on television and everywhere." Mosques are not his area but in other spheres he tries to implement his convictions. Helmy The author also calls Al-Namnam "a top-notch intellectual and contemporary historian."
