The Norwegian Academy for Arts and Freedom of Expression granted its annual award to the Egyptian Dr. Viviane Fouad and Dr. Samir Marcus [Editor: a married couple], in recognition of their distinguished efforts in the field of understanding between Muslims and Christians in Egypt during the past years. The academy considered Fouad and Marcus’ work as very important and constructive, especially in light of the international circumstances of extremism and mutual hatred and bigotry.
