In Kuwait too, a suspicious magazine called Al-Menbar alleged that Caliph Omar Ibn Al-Khattab was a homosexual and that Abu Bakr Al-Seddiq was not in the cave with Prophet Muhammad. The magazine went too far as to accuse the companion Khaled Ibn Al-Walid of having committed adultery with the wife of a Muslim man he had killed. Under a banner headline on its cover called Umm Al-Mutasak’een [the mother of harlots,] a caustic remark deriding Aisha’s title Umm Al-Mu’mineen [the mother of believers, a title given to the wives of Prophet Muhammad] the magazine devoted a four-page report in which it said the facts it is publishing on Aisha are undeniable.
