British police have raided a number of Islamic schools, which the

government said are

suspected training camps for young Islamic extremists. Amongst these schools was al-

Jam‘īyah

al-Islāmīyah [Reviewer: Islamic Association] School at Mark Cross, whose

imām, Bilāl

Pātīl, admitted that jailed cleric Abū Hamzah al-Misrī

and his followers had visited. Around

30 of Hamzah’s followers were reported to have been trained to use AK-47

rifles and guns at camps held

within the school grounds.
