After being released from prison where he had been detained for the assassination of the late Egyptian president, 'Ānwar al-Sadāt, 'Abūd al-Zumur announced his will to form a coalition between the most prominant Islamic streams.

The coalition will include jihād organization, al-Jamā'ah al-Islāmīyah, and salafīs. The objective of this coalition is to show that Islam is not restricted to Muslim Brotherhood only.
