According to recent constitutional amendments, the next parliament will elect a panel that lays down Egypt’s new constitution. Many believe that the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), one of Egypt's most organized political groups, is likely to win a majority of seats during the next parliamentary elections and will thus dominate the Constitution panel.

MB members declared such worries as needless, arguing that the group does not intend to formulate the new constitution alone. On the contrary, the MB argued that all political groups should take part in formulating their country’s new constitution.
