As already reported in the article “prominent Egyptian Salafī proclaims victory of religion in referendum”, Salafī preacher Muhammad Husīn Ya’qūb has lately described Egypt’s recent referendum results as a “yes to religion”, demanding that everyone, who voted against it had to leave the country.

In response to his statements, lawyer Muhammad Zāyid, together with an Egyptian attorney general, has now filed a report, accusing Ya’qūb of incitement against the opposition and of human rights violations.

Furthermore, both lawyers argue that Ya’qūb 's statements violated the principle of tolerance advocated by Islam.
