A delegation of representatives of political powers and public figures visited Coptic Orthodox Pope Shenouda III to support him in the face of salafists' demonstrations and slogans chanted against him.

The delegation included veteran journalist 'Ādil Hamūdah and political activist Nawārah Ahmad Fu'ād Nijm, as well as several Muslim young women wearing the hijāb in a gesture that they reject statements by salafists published on some web sites and threatened whoever dares to go attend the sermon.

The pope ignored to comment on the Kāmīliyā Shihātah issue or the demonstrations staged by salafists in front of the cathedral.
