Afaf Badran, Architect and Environmental Designer, sent her comment about Maspero’s attack to AWR.

"I feel very sorry for what happened in Maspiro. This is not about differences or conflicts between different religious groups; it is about the absence of the right strategy or tool to express overlooked rights and the unpreparedness to listen, objectively discuss and resolve raised issues. I wished that no such conflict would ever happen especially at such a time when chaos seems difficult to control and when there is unfortunately fertile opportunity for misunderstanding and mistrust. Violence is not only unacceptable, but has never proven to be a sustainable approach or tool for settling unrest. Dialogue and negotiations should be promoted and well run. Laws should be fairly and clearly set, promptly and should be honestly and strictly followed"
