In a statement issued by Catholic Bishops Council chaired by Patriarch Cardinal Antonios Naguib, the Catholic Church in Egypt stressed the necessity that the new draft regulation on construction of churches includes a provision giving official licenses to churches already constructed before the effective date of the regulation and churches that were closed by the former regime or whose construction were suspended.
