Prime Minister-designate Hishām Qandīl said he briefed the president on the outcome of consultations during the past few days and meetings with 40 figures specialized in all walks of life to reach a final shape of a new government.

“I will announce the final lineup of the government on Thursday (August 2). I will continue my consultations during the next few days in order to reach the best balanced and professional cabinet to confront the challenges posed to Egypt,” said Qandīl in a press conference after meeting with President Mursī on Saturday (July 28).
