The Coptic Orthodox Church condemned the actions of filmmakers offending the Prophet Muhammad and repudiated their acts. They stressed that they condemn prejudice toward their partners in the nation (Muslims). 

While al-Jamā'ah al-Islāmīyah demanded the trial of Father Maurice Sādiq (Reviewer's Note: Maurice Sādiq is not a priest, he is a layman, a lawyer, and President of the National Coptic Assembly in USA and Human Rights Center for National Unity in Cairo). They accused him of treason and asked to expel the ambassadors of the countries that broadcast the film.
