Dr. 'Abd al-Mijīd Mahmūd, Public Prosecutor, is continuing an investigation in the case of the film discrediting the Prophet Muhammad. Attorney Hāmid Muhammad, member of the Freedoms Committee (in the Lawyers Syndicate), had filed a report against a number of expatriate Copts accusing them of deliberate damage of national unity in Egypt and producing a film offending the Prophet Muhammad. 

The State Security Prosecution decided to send letters to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to inform U.S. official authorities to summon the suspects, namely: Nabīl Maurice, 'Ismat Zaqalamah, Jack 'Atallah, Nabīl Bisādah, Ihāb Ya'qūb, Nāhid Mitwalī, Ilīyā Basīlī, and 'Adil Riyād.
