In its first meeting during the papacy of Ṭawāḍrūs yesterday, the Holy Synod made a decision that prohibits applause or trills of joy inside churches in order to respect the sacrality of these places. 

The new Coptic Orthodox Pope is planning to set up a media office and reshuffle the secretariat of the Saint Mark Cathedral as well as appoint Monk Seraphim al-Suryānī as secretary for expatriate Copts’ affairs.
