The Misdemeanor Appellate Court in Nasser, Beni Suef, has ruled to extend the arrest of Zakī Tawfiq Andrawes and his family (his son Abram, his wife Suād Ikhnūn, and his cousin Peter). They are accused of forcefully abducting Ranā Hāttim, stealing her money, and forcing her to convert to Christianity and reject Islam. The arrest period has been extended for 45 days leading to a total number of 260 days without referring them to a court.   Ihāb Ramzī, the lawyer of the Coptic family, stated that this case has witnessed many legal irregularities as there is no evidence that the girl was forcefully abducted.
