The Muslim Brotherhood fails to make a case for human rights violations in Egypt

After the group’s attempt to undermine the economic conference in Sharm el Sheikh, they also failed to convince the UN of a deteriorating human rights situation in Egypt. On the contrary, the international community was optimistic about the recent developments in Egypt, coinciding with a growing domestic economy. Such international acceptance meant a serious blow for the work of several human rights organisations, among them Human Rights Watch, which allegedly also support the Muslim Brotherhood’s interests.
