Member of the Parliament, Muḥammad ʿEsmat Al-Sādāt, who was recently elected as the head of the Parliamentary Committee for human rights, in an interview with Misr al-‘Arabiyya -when asked about the recent demonstrations that broke out in protest of the Egyptian government decision to concede two islands to Saudi Arabia-  stated that protesting is a right for citizens ensured by the constitution but the country does not need it at the current period.
