The Egyptian Moral Rearmament Association (EMRA) celebrated on November 29 and 30 its 30^th anniversary. The Moral Rearmament Association is the name of the organization when it was founded in Switzerland before the Second World War. In Europe and most other countries the name was changed to Initiatives of Change (IofC) but the Egyptian members preferred to adhere to the old name. MRA or IofC is a network of national organizations worldwide that are all dedicated to the same goal: a just and peaceful world. Dr. Imad Karam [ʿImād Karam], Executive Director of IofC International, with its headquarters in Switzerland, came for this occasion to Egypt and spoke during the conference.  ʿImād is Palestinian British with his roots in Gaza while his wife is Egyptian British which explains their strong ties to Egypt. ʿImād and his wife have an 8 year old son. The Center for Arab-West Understanding cooperated with EMRA and ʿImād Karam during the visits of Nigerian Imam Muhammad Ashafa and Pastor James Wuye in 2009 and 2011.
