The following lines present a review of the latest book of Dr. Maḥmūd Ḥamdī Zaqzūq, the Egyptian minister of endowments. The book is entitled, ’al-Islām wa Qadāyā al-Hiwār’ [Islam and the Issues of Dialogue].
The book, Islam and Dialogue written by Dr. Mahmoud Hamdi Zaqzouq and translated by Dr. Mustafa Maher, discusses the idea of reform as an Islamic duty that should be reached through ijtihad and reason, and not just by replicating historical incidents.
