In the coming weeks, we hope to officially reveal a number of exciting developments related to the Center for Arab-West Understanding’s Learning Center which strives to offer quality education to refugees, asylum seekers, and disadvantaged immigrant youth in Cairo. Tens of thousands of non-Arabic-speaking refugees live in Egypt in difficult conditions. The CAWU Learning Center (presently undergoing new registration as Beyond Borders Academy) believes in the importance of education as a basic human right that protects refugee children from falling behind. With the right support, these individuals can become leaders in their own community. The center aims to provide refugees with low cost, high-quality secondary education that is recognised internationally. You can learn more about the center here.
At present, we wanted to inform our readers that the learning center is hiring for several positions for the upcoming academic year (2023-2024). If you could let your networks know of these opportunities, we would very much appreciate it. In addition, there are internship opportunties for students and young adults who would like to gain experience in international education and refugee assistance:
Teaching Positions
- English Teacher
- Social Studies Teacher
- American Curriculum Coordinator
Administrative Positions
- School Secretary
Application materials and inquiries can be sent to [email protected] or by phone at 0 106 588 5522.
All of us in the CAWU family appreciate your support for this important initiative. Please stay tuned for further developments!
With best wishes,
Matthew Anderson
