Prof. Dr. Hudā Ghagab ʿAwaḍ, is processor of political science at Misr International University, is secretary-general of the Centre for Arab-West Understanding since May 23, 2012, board member of CEOSS and is an active member of the Egyptian Council for Human Rights.
Dr. Hudā met on May 10, 2022, with a delegation of the Church of Norway, an evangelical Lutheran denomination of Protestant Christianity and by far the largest Christian church in Norway. The Norwegian delegation was led by bishop Rt. Rev. Olav Öygard of Tromsö. He was accompanied by eight of his nine deans (one was not well), plus a theological advisor on his staff. One is a woman, and all are ordained. In the Church of Norway that means they all hold the equivalent of an MA in theology plus a year or more of practical theological studies, and most have many years’ experience in the field after that.
This meeting was set up by Rev. Jon Aalborg whom I knew when he was working on Christian projects in Egypt. Jon and his wife Tori used to work with the Mother Theresa sisters in Muqattam.
