Prof. ʿAmrū Ḥamzāwī teaches political science at the American University in Cairo. In the interview he speaks about movements and political parties in post-revolutionary Egypt with an ideological frame related to Islam. He gives account to the development of al-Wasaṭ party to become an "ally" of the Muslim Brotherhood. Furthermore he refers to the term "Islamism" and sheds light on his prognosis how Islamism will develop in Egyptian society in the future.This interview was part of an Arab-West Report project for a book on Islamist movements during the year 2013. Data collected were placed online in June 2016. All interviewees gave their approval to publish the transcripts.
