The author comments on the first conference held by the Vatican on the future of Christianity in the Middle East. He says that the Vatican approach is different in form and content from the American approach. The Vatican is seeking solutions that do not contradict their being part of the people of the Middle East and citizens of its states. The American approach, however, is allegedly characterized by exaggeration and extortion.
