In the area of Imbābah and al-Warrāq, the fight is not only over votes from inside the ruling party, but also for the Church’s endorsement. The Church this year has decided to endorse a Muslim candidate over a Coptic one because he, according to Father Ibrāhīm ‘Abd al-Malik, provides the Church with various services.
