Opposition elements in London say they cautiously welcome Minister of Manpower ‘Ā‘ishah ‘Abd al-Hādī’s announcement of the government’s intentions to allow them to vote in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Leading opposition figure Usāmah Rushdī says they fear that “impossible conditions” may be placed and that they await an official decision by the government.
