Field Marshal Muhammad Husayn Tantāwī, the chairman of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), called for quickly taking all the necessary legal action against the former officials who "devastated politics".

Tantāwī, during a meeting with the new lineup of Prime Minister 'Isām Sharaf's government after being sworn-in for office, also urged dialogue among all groups and political powers in the society.

Sharaf, after marathon talks, had managed to complete an expanded cabinet reshuffle so the new ministers may take the constitutional oath in front of Field Marshal Tantāwī.
