Please join The Center for Intercultural Dialogue and Translation in welcoming our newest staff member, Yosra El Gendi. Yosra holds an MSC in Development Studies from Lund University in Sweden, an MA in Comparative Politics from American University in Cairo, and a BA in Philosophy also from American University in Cairo. She is an Egyptian national and is currently residing in Nasr City.  She is fluent in both English and Arabic.

 

Yosra’s title will be “Researcher” and she will be tasked with a variety of jobs.  Her primary role will be to conduct research in both Middle Eastern and Western media in Arabic and English.  She will also review our translation interns’ work and provide them with their daily translation selectioon.  Other tasks will include completing donor reports, maintaining our English and Arabic websites, writing media reviews, and developing new programming options. Yosra brings a warm enthusiasm to the office and we look forward to utilizing her knowledge and experience in our work.

 

In her words: “It’s an honour for me to be granted the opportunity to contribute to CIDT's important work. Here, I feel I am helping Egypt become a more stable and democratic country.  In these times, Egypt needs dialogue more than anything else.”
