Pope Tawadros has accused human rights reports on Copts in Egypt of being “purposefully distorted misunderstandings” during one of his statements to a satellite channel [the article did not mention the channel].   This led to a wave of anger among human rights activists who accused the Pope of interfering in political affairs which contradicts with his spiritual role.
