The Reciters Syndicate decided to expel Shaykh al- Shāzilī, the reciter who called the shi’te call to prayer in Iraq. The deputy of the Azhar, Abāss Shuman, stated that the honorable  Azhar does not honor it  to have a Shaykh such as Shāzilī affiliated to it. He stated addressing the expelled Shaykh “money is not a sufficient price to sell your religion” (Usāmah Abd al- Karīm et al., al- Fath, May 16, p.3).
