Coptic movements differed on taking part in the celebrations of the third anniversary of the January 25^th 2011 Revolution. Some movements, such as the Maspero Youth Union stated that they are not participating in the events of January 25^th, refusing to give a cover to the Muslim Brothers to take part. Sarkhat Watan called upon masses to rally in Tahrir square and it congratulated Egyptians for the removal of the Muslim Brotherhood regime. They also stated that they support Abd al- Fattāh al- Sīsī’s nomination for presidency.Coptic thinker Kamāl Zākhir  stated that the decision to participate or not is up to the Coptic youth (‘Abd al- Wahhāb Sha’bān, al- Wafd, Jan. 25, p. 8).
