On Saturday 24 July, the religious sector of the Ministry of Awqāf issued a strongly worded statement warning imams in all governorates not to allow unlicensed preachers to teach from mosque’s pulpits. Such an incidence would be punished with a salary deduction, bearing in mind that the penalty may reach the termination of service for those who neglect the warning and will be referred to the Ministry’s General office for investigation.
