Coinciding with their preparations for the celebration of the Prophet’s Birthday, the Shabrawiyya ṭarīqa are preparing, during the first week of this September as is their custom, to celebrate the mawlid of al-ʿĀrif bi-’llāh ʿUmar Jaʿfar al-Shabrawī, known as al-Baḥr al-Rāwī, on its 212th anniversary. The Shabrawiyya Khalwatiyya ṭarīqa hold the mawlid of al-Baḥr al-Rāwī in the village of Shubrā Zinjī, in al-Bājūr District of al-Minūfiyya Governorate, in their large courtyard located next to the mosque and mausoleum of Sayyidī ʿUmar al-Shabrawī.
