The Grand Imam, Aḥmad al-Ṭayyib, welcomed His Holiness Pope Tawāḍrūs II and his delegation into the sheikhdom of al-Azhar, expressing his appreciation for this visit and for the strength and cohesion of the relationship between al-Azhar and the Church, which embodies the human brotherhood that unites the nation, and bringing together all human beings. He further stressed on the harmony between these two institutions which represents a unique example of fraternity, brotherhood and human and societal interdependence.
