In Egypt’s battle against extremism, Al-Azhar, the Ministry of Awqāf (Religious Endowments), and Dār al-Iftā’ were at the forefront of confronting the extremist ideas promoted by the Muslim Brotherhood.

The confrontation was not only a security affair but primarily an intellectual one, aimed at reshaping awareness, spreading the correct understanding of Islam, and exposing the falsehood of the religious slogans used by the group to justify violence and division.
