Pope Tawāḍrūs II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, mourned the death Hīdrā, saying “We find it difficult to bid farewell to one of the pillars of the church in its recent history Bishop Hīdrā, Metropolitan of Aswān and Abbot of the Monastery of Saint Pachomius in Idfū.”
