The Refugee Leadership Training Project was initiated by the Center for Arab-West Understanding with support by EO Metterdaad in 2019 with a mission to support community development amongst refugees in Cairo. The RLT project commenced in February 2020 and was completed in spring 2021. The project was based on a recognized need for improved leadership amongst increasing refugee populations, and because of the increasing anxiety and delinquency amongst the refugee youth in poor urban Cairo neighborhoods.
