Today… Catholics celebrate Easter and the Feast of Isaac and pray for Egypt and al-Sīsī

Tonight, the Catholic Church will held Easter services headed by Father Ābrāhīm Īsahaq, the Patriarch of the Catholic Church at the Cathedral of the Virgin in Nasr City in Cairo. Representatives of the President, as well as the Prime Minister and the Sheik of al-Āzhar were in attendance. The title of the Father’s homily was “The Resurrection of the Messiah is the Foundation of Civilization and Everlasting Hope.” The Father praised the current President, ‘Abd al-Fatāh al-Sīsī, and called upon Egyptians to support his leadership and guidance. Security was heightened for the service to reduce the threat of terrorist attacks.
