Lawyer Nabeeh al-Wahish introduced a notification against Dr. Nawal al-

Sa’adawi, in which he

accused her of dispising Islām and transgressing moralities. The Muftī, Dr. Nasr

Farid Wasel, said that he would

not comment on al-Wahish’s notification until al-Sa’adawi stands before

the court. If she insists on what was

attributed to her, she should be tried, but if she denies it no trial

should take place.
