The Grand Sheikh of the Azhar received the American under-secretary of state and head of the International Office of Religious Freedom in the United States. He explained that the thousand-year-old Azhar is based on moderation and investigating the true religious issues and calls for the spreading of Islam and moderation among all members of society. The latter expressed his opinion that the Azhar is a great Islamic center.
