The author believes that the West should reconsider its wrong view of the Islamic East. At the same time, he believes that religious ignorance [among Muslims] is one of the main reasons behind terrorism and thus behind the negative Western image of Muslims. Islam calls for tolerance, forgiveness, and mercy. It also calls for respecting human rights. These concepts are applied on both Muslims and non-Muslims. However, ignorance of such religious facts leads to extremism, which in its turn leads to terrorism.
