Pope Shenouda appealed against the Supreme Administrative Court's ruling in favor of The Governor of Cairo to halt building without permit of an extension at the Virgin Church at Sharabia, claiming that the ruling goes against Article 46 of the Egyptian constitution, which ensures freedom of religious belief and religious practice.
