Around 600 people performed liturgy last Sunday in the courtyard of a school belonging to the church that was destroyed by a fire last week. Youannis Zakaria pointed out that this is the third church to be destroyed by a fire in the Diocese of Luxor, all three resulting from electrical short circuit. He then pointed out that the Hegaza village has seen two incidents of extreme sectarian violence in the last two years.
