The Egyptian Chaldean Church was established in 1930 and includes only 150 families and two churches. Sawt al-Ummah decided to interview its leader, Monseigneur Phillip Najm, who is originally from Iraq. He says that he has been appointed by the Vatican and that the church is on very good terms with both the Coptic Orthodox Church and the Muslim community in Egypt. It was the leader’s first ever press appearance.
