Bilāl criticizes most of today’s Islamic writers and thinkers for their reluctance to take a decisive stand on current events and instead taking the easy way out by being politically correct. He says that he is also grateful for the few who are not afraid to speak their minds, such as Fahmī Huwaydī who last Wednesday wrote an article in Al-Shurūq criticizing the insults aimed at Pope Shenouda III by demonstrators.
