Journalist Lotus Kīwān interviews Bishop Kyrillos of Naj‘ Hammādī about the current controversy surrounding his meeting with MP ‘Abd al-Rahīm al-Ghūl, who many Copts believe to be responsible for last year’s Naj‘ Hammādī massacre. Kyrillos argues that he has always been on good terms with al-Ghūl. He further explains that all those, accusing him for not caring about the massacre’s victims would misunderstand him, apparently forgetting that a year ago he was the first person to report and testify the crime. He emphasized that he will continue to follow the case until the murderers are prosecuted and denied rumors of having a personal relationship with prime suspect al-Kammūnī.
