President Husnī Mubarāk issued a Republican decree appointing ten members in the Parliament, seven out of ten are Copts for the first time during his ruling; and one woman.

Copts negative reactions about appointing the Copt Jamāl 'As'ad 'Abd al-Malāk was obvious on internet discussions.

Worth mentioning that the percentage of appointing copts before July's revolution was 6.13 percent decreased to 2.54 percent during the time of Jamāl 'Abd al-Nāsir increased to 3.12 percent during 'Anwar al-Sadāts' and decreased again to 1.7 percent in Mubarāks'.
