Helwan Governor Qadrī Abū-Husayn said the Church of the Two Martyrs, Saint Mina and Saint George, in Sūl village, will be opened soon.

Abū-Husayn said the reconstruction of the church cost 2.5 million Egyptian pounds.

Archbishop of Giza says the church will welcome worshippers on Sunday (April 16) to celebrate Palm Sunday and special prayer service during the Passion Week prior to Easter.

Clashes had broken out between Muslims and Christians in ‘Ātfīh in early March 2011, ending in an outrage that Muslims in the village went to the church and set it on fire.
