Khālid Muntasir praised a statement made by Dr. 'Abd al-Mu'tī Bayūmī, a member of the Azhar's Islamic Research Academy, in his response to salafists.

Shaykh Abū Ishaq al-Huwaynī, a salafī preacher, lamented Muslims' "slackness" to launch ghazwahs (invasions) one year after another, adding "if this had happened, numerous people would have converted to Islam and whoever declines must be captivated along with their women and children and their money seized."

Bayūmī, responding to Huwaynī, said these words distort the image of Islam and only draw hatred of the Muslim faith.
